Sunday, February 15th, 2009Last night we got a tiny houseguest:
“Willow” was found wandering in the snow at the middle of night, two nights ago. And since I’m the only “temporary home” for ferrets for Dyrebeskyttelsen (The Norwegian Society for the Protection of Animals) here in Trondheim. She has to stay with us for the time being.
Not that I’m complaining, she is very cute and kind 
Update February 16th.
Nala which was her real name, was picked up by her owner tonight, they both seemed very happy to be reunited

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008I saw the latest batman movie last night, and considering all the hype around it, I find myself somewhat disappointed.
The plot is pretty uninteresting for the most part, but not that bad either, it’s like an average action movie.
There where a few things that annoyed me:
- They could have killed the joker at 4-5 times at the movie, saving lots of people.
- Heath Ledger’s acting was OK, nothing more.. If he had not offed himself with a bad drugs combo nobody would give a shit or suggest him getting an oscar.
- Batmans voice sounds like Homer Simpson with a cold.. SERIOUSLY.. it’s off putting!
- Nobody notices 50-100 barrels of explosives being moved into a hospital or a ferry.
And finally.. “Dark knight”?
Batman is not Dark.. He is Emo.. There is a big difference.
Rorschach (Watchmen), V (V for Vendetta), Marv (Sin city), The punisher, Wolverine (X-men) are dark, and they get the job done.
Batman is a black teletubby who like superman is never going to solve the problem by killing his deadly enemy, but instead play a weird form of catch and release, which gets LOTS of people killed, but still batman is sooo guilty when the joker kills a few people demanding that he expose himself.
At least this movie was not as HORRIBLE as Batman Returns. Still.. Batman = Pussy

Nidarosilder 2008
Saturday, September 27th, 2008earlier this month we where at the Nidarosilder ferret exhibition here in Trondheim.
It was pretty fun, we bought some stuff like a new tunnel for the ferrets (they kinda wrecked the old one), and I had a stand for Dyrebeskyttelsen (local society for animal rights).
Buffy won second place in her category (her half sister won first), and we’re quite happy with that as there where many participants in her category. Buffy’s father won Best in Show
Pinky won third place in her category( score-wise it was a tie for second place with her almost identical sister )

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008Seeing that my homemade air conditioner was not powerful enough to cool down the living room (it only had 2000 of the 14’000 required BTU/H), I took the copper coil off the fan, and turned it into a water cooled bed for the ferrets
The bed holds a comfortable 16-18 degrees Celsius.
This is nice for the little weasels, seeing they can’t sweat to get cooler.

Saturday, July 5th, 2008Holy crap, it’s like 30 degrees outside.. And we all know what that means?
Well at least I do.. It means the apartment will smell like wet weasels.
For those of you who have never experienced the smell of a soaking wet Mustelidae or other small carnivorous mammal, it smells GREAT! It’s like a party in your nose, and everyone is invited.
We bought this sandbox/mini pool from Toys’R'Us last year, and have been using it as a sandbox for the ferrets for a while, however the last months it’s been filled with blankets, tubes, toys and stuff.
We had a plastic pool before, however we we’re afraid to use it at our new place as it is not hard plastic like the new one..
Even at our old place using the pool was not for the faint of heart, seeing that at any second the pool could have a IMMINENT STRUCTURAL FAILURE which would result in about 100 liters of water exploring every square cm of our relatively small apartment. But now that we actually own the apartment and have hardwood floors, it’s better to stay on the safe side.

Circusweekend
Monday, June 30th, 2008I spent most of this weekend (friday, saturday, sunday) demonstrating against a Circus in town, Sirkus Agora.
The demonstration was a joint demonstration with us (The Norwegian society for the protection of animals – Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge avd. Trondheim og omeng) and NOAH. We where usually 5 people there, and 15 at the most.
We handed out a bunch of flyers, got lots of positive response from people going by. The circus had few visitors, and we got to videotape their mistreated elephant. The video should be on the local newspapers web page sometime today, along with a story on the conditions of circus animals.
