I quit my job at Intrapoint yesterday.
The reason being that I got a much better offer from another company here in Trondheim named Betradar. The job pays better, and have more Java which I find much more interesting, and I’ll be starting February 1st.
A funny side note:)
A friend told me that some people where I currently work got offended by the Christmas greeting I sent out, which included a link to the song: So long and thanks for all the fish. I’m not sure if this guy is pulling my leg or not, but allegedly some people at work interpreted the lyrics rather verbatim and seem to be under the impression of the following:
- I have tried to warn them of impending doom
- I am intellectually superior (well, many of them were PHP “programmers”…)
- The world or the company is about to be destroyed (Damn Vogons and their galactic bypasses)
- Despite tuna nets I liked most of them, especially the toddlers
- If I could have a single wish, I would have a tasty fish (common vegetarian craving)
- My biggest regret is not learning how to sing
I guess that’s what you get for sending out a goodbye / merry Christmas message as a Douglas Adams reference. Actually I’m pretty sure the guy was just trying to play a trick on me (which I kinda fell for, I must admit), as I find it hard to believe that my current co-workers are so extremely imaginative / paranoid
