Neil Degrasse Tyson on my wall

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

I finally got around to hanging the picture I made of Neil Degrasse Tyson on my wall today, I finished it over a month ago and now it’s finally up there for the whole world to enjoy (well, at least anyone who might happen to visit my apartment).

Neil Degrasse Tyson Perler

Now I can have this handsome hunk of an astrophysicist watch over me while I work :D

Neil Degrasse Tyson

The picture took about 10 hours to do, and is made from 8100 small plastic beads (perler). The picture itself is 45×45 cm, I wanted to have it much bigger, but when you have  a girlfriend you learn to compromise)

If you’re not already, you should follow him on Twitter (@neiltyson), he has very interesting tweets about science and astronomy.

A new Hobby

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

I’ve recently started a new hobby, which involves tiny plastic beads :)

Everyone used to make stuff with “Hama Perler” when they were kids, but now that I’m grown up, it’s actually way more fun.

I’m currently making all the main characters from Monkey Island 2 (Just Guybrush and Stan so far), but Elaine, Herman Toothrot, Lemon head and the others aren’t far behind.

I’ll be adding pictures of the stuff I make on this picasa album

Comic Contest

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Cryptic Studios announced a “Create a comic” contest for Startrek online, with the chance to win a beta key.

My chances are pretty much 0,003%, but still, here’s my contribution to the contest:

New header

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

I changed the old default wordpress header to something more personal :)

I made the new header with my drawing tablet, it started out as just my head.. but then I decided to add a Starfleet uniform, and then why not a little tribute to Evil Dead?

Bamboo!

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

I recently bought a cheap drawing tablet, the Bamboo one from Wacom. So far I’m pretty pleased with the tablet and the software that came with it.

Here are some crappy images I made with the pencil and paintbrush tool:

Kawaii Kokoro kuma!

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

So, having watched the Kokoro Scan trailer 50 times, I went into photoshop and made myself a background

Kokoro Bear Kuma

The result was so so, should have drawn the bear in illustrator instead to get better lines, that would have been a lot faster as well.

Hindsight.. :(
