Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I just completed watching the sixt season of 24, it was very good. And I’m not just saying that because lots of sci-fi actors popped up in it :)

UPDATE: You may also want to check out a similar listing for season 7: Sci-fi actors in 24 season 7

Also, I thought a FBI agent was played by Star Trek Voyager’s Robert Duncan McNeill, however the FBI agent was played by Scott William Winters, which just happened to look and sound very similar :)

Don’t tell me this could not be the same guy (12 years apart) :)

I still haven’t picked up my copy of Command & Conquer 3. But DAMN! the latest Ctr-alt-del comic was hilarious :) but I guess you have to have played or read a bit about C&C3 to get it.. C&C3 has a lot of actors from current shows/movies. :D

Wii!

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

I picked up a Wii last night, with Wii-sports and Rayman Raving Rabbids. Just played it for like 20 minutes, but so far it seems pretty cool :)

I’ve found a few interesting games, and I might pick up some of them:

Not really that many Wii games that I currently NEED to have, I got both UFO Afterlight, Silent Hunter 4, and soon C&C 3 for the PC, so shooting rabid rabbits with plungers should do just fine this easter

Current events

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

Haven’t posted much lately.. Things have been pretty busy with work and the moving (only 6 days left, yaaaaay!), I’ve had almost no time for UFO Afterlight or Silent Hunter 4 the last 2 weeks, and I don’t expect I will have much time for C&C 3 when it is released next week.

I took out my scooter today, drove around a bit.. took like half an hour to start the bastard after it being in storage for 5 months this winter. I’m looking forward to not taking the bus to work tomorrow :)

The other thing that has kept me busy lately is that I have been making a new webpage (that combines aakretech.no, .com, .net and .org into a single page). Not quite done yet but most of the pages are in place. Removing the cocoon webapp for aakretech.org from my Tomcat server reduced the server’s startup time from 15 seconds to 0.7 seconds.

Not much more to say really.. Nemi got her new cage, but we wont get it for her until we move next Sunday/Monday

Alive again

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

After a grueling week of influenza I almost feel like myself again.

I saved up enough strength to play the two tutorial missions last week, got 2 hours of gameplay before I had to go to bed. But now that I’m all better I can try out the skirmish mode when I get home from work. The stuff from the two missions look really nice, and with Michael Ironside (Starship troopers), Tricia Helfer & Grace Park (both from Battlestar Galactica) in the game cinematics, this should be pretty interesting. The game is released in Norway around 29th or March, and since I’m moving on April 1st. this means I wont be able to preorder the game by mail.. Hope I still get my hands on the Kane Edition, maybe I should go to a store and reserve a copy today.. damn.. It just occurred to me that I wont have any time to play the game since we have to move all my stuff.. gaaaagh!

I haven’t had the flu since I was in primary school, and it was much worse than I could remember.. I was looking forward to just lay on the couch a few days and watch TV, but it was really uncomfortable and I was pretty much unable to watch TV or operate a computer :(

At least Stacy got sick as well (misery really DO love company), but I don’t think Nemi got it, which is a consolation of sorts. Maybe it’s because that little furry vermin eats much better(healthier) than us and maybe got a better immune system :)

aaanyway.. Season ending of heroes should be “available” today, got to see how that turns out.. Seems UFO:ET has been postponed, but 16. April is not that far away, I’ll probably be to busy moving and playing C&C 3 to notice :)

This post contains descriptions of my terrible plight, it is not recommended reading for the very young or those of you with a heart condition. It contains extensive whining.

Supreme Commander

I downloaded the demo and gave it a go, even tough I’ve never been much of the Total Annihilation series.

After turning the graphics to low and playing after around 30 minutes, the damned thing froze, jumped to windows with some weird message about a problem with the video driver. The screen changed to 640×480 and 16 colors.. I try to kill off the game still running in the background only to see the monitor going into power save mode.

Right now I’m pretty pissed as I was downloading a couple of files at the time, and had to reboot :(

In conclusion, since I’m not a big fan of this particular type of RTS games, don’t have the computer to run the game, don’t want to risk having to reboot again, I uninstalled the game and am now waiting for C&C 3 :)

It is I, Leclerc..

goddammit, I managed to catch a cold.

Not that having a cold is THAT bad, I just get pretty hazy and dizzy which mean I’m not going to do much good as a programmer.

Also being home from work is not so fun as it might sound.. Just finished Far Cry and have no games to play (why couldn’t I get sick AFTER Silent hunter 4 or C&C 3?).

Me and Stacy also watch practically every tv-series worth watching together.. which means I don’t have much to choose from when doing solo-watching. Only things I can watch without watching something I’ve seen 3-8 times before is either the A-team or ‘Allo ‘Allo!, and honestly none of these tempts me at the moment :(
