Saturday, July 26th, 2008I saw a pretty good movie just now.
The Mist is a “horror movie” based on a novella by Stephen King. But unlike most films based on his stories, this movie does not suck.. It’s actually fairly good, a little bit slow in the middle, but nice ending.
The movie is about a small town that gets covered in a thick mist, leaving lots of people trapped in the local grocery store. If you’re a fan of Stephen King movies (the few good ones), you might want to check this out, as this is one of the good ones (like The Stand, Storm of the Century, Rose Red, Green Mile, Carrie, etc..).
I guess it’s also a good “casual horror” movie, nothing scary. Speaking of scary, I just realized there are no asian people in the movie.. weird.. Stacy is going away tomorrow, so maybe then I can get to watch the latest asian horror movie I bought (Ghost game).

3 zombie films you should never watch
Monday, July 7th, 2008I saw 4 zombie films since the last time I posted a movie review, well admittedly only one was a TRUE zombie film in my opinion, but that’s besides the point. Anyhow, here are the reviews.
I am Legend
For some reason, I cant even begin to phantom why, I decided to temporarily lift the ban on Will Smith (*spit*) movies and watch this movie. In retrospect I should have trusted the gut feeling which said ‘Don’t do it you fucking idiot, what the hell are you thinking?!’. Either way the damage is done, I watched it and it sucked. Have you ever heard what doctors often say, “the brain has a miraculous ability to heal”. Well this must be true, cause I cant remember shit about the movie except that it SUCKED, and that lifting a Will Smith (*spit*curse*) ban is no longer an option.

Doomsday
Unlike a certain shitty movie listed above, this movie started out pretty good. But from about the middle of the movie, when the punk gang and Renaissance fair crew make their appearance it’s a steady drop until rock bottom is hit, with the very forced, completely ridiculous and utterly LAME car chase in the end.

Planet Terror
Hehe, this is the funniest zombie I’ve seen since Shaun of the dead. Well It’s the only humorous zombie film I’ve seen since Shaun of the dead, but still.. The movie is very entertaining, the violence is great and the story is much better than doomsday + I am Legend put together. Great acting, special effects, etc..

Diary of the dead
Damn.. I really expected more from Romero. I know it’s independently produced, low budget and all that.. But the story was lame, the characters where uninteresting (except for the brief appearance of the deaf Amish) and the movie was just a big yawn. The concept of a video-diary from a zombie event could have been pretty cool, however this movie totally fails to deliver.
rating: 3 / 10
Conclusion, zombie movies of lately genereally seems to suck. The only time I was even remotely frightened by the movies above was each time I saw Will Smiths face in I am Legend.
Circusweekend
Monday, June 30th, 2008I spent most of this weekend (friday, saturday, sunday) demonstrating against a Circus in town, Sirkus Agora.
The demonstration was a joint demonstration with us (The Norwegian society for the protection of animals – Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge avd. Trondheim og omeng) and NOAH. We where usually 5 people there, and 15 at the most.
We handed out a bunch of flyers, got lots of positive response from people going by. The circus had few visitors, and we got to videotape their mistreated elephant. The video should be on the local newspapers web page sometime today, along with a story on the conditions of circus animals.
Easter
Tuesday, March 25th, 2008Damn, it’s already over.. Easter was way to short this year, it should have been three times longer.
What did I do this easter? not much, I left the house once to go to the store. The easter started by our water heater dying, so a new one had to be installed (Can’t wait for the bill 
).
The rest of the easter was spent watching Buffy, Lost (I really really hate it) and some movies.
I also played a lot of WoW, and got two nice drops from Netherspite on the same run , and leveled my rogue from lvl26 to 35.
Spellbound
Saturday, November 10th, 2007I recorded another song from the Enthrone Darkness Triumphant album today, Spellbound 
, damn I love that first chord.. I could probably play it for hours.
I took the advice from one of the comments on youtube and added more lighting on this video, and I think it turned out much better, anyway, next time I will be playing In Death’s Embrace, one of my favorites on that album. I think I’m also going to make youtube history by uploading the first Enslavement of Beauty keyboard cover (yes I know, I should get a life)
Mourning Palace
Thursday, November 8th, 2007I was kinda bored yesterday (had the flu), so I recorded myself playing Dimmu Borgir – Mourning Palace (just to show all those youtube noobs how to play it properly, and on the same instrument as the band uses.. Nothing is worse than listening to Oldsk00l Dimmu being played on a Casio or Yamaha, Korg FTW)
I think I might record the rest of the album as well, when I have the time.. Maybe do Spellbound tonight (The opening part CAN’T be played on anything else than the G53 A-Choir on a Korg X5D)
New Camera
Friday, October 19th, 2007I bought a new camera a couple of days ago, here is the test run:
It shows our new ferret Pinky (albino) playing with Nemi.. Pinky has so much energy that Nemi and ourselves have trouble keeping up at times.
Curse of the Were-rabbit

A few nights ago me and Stacy saw Wallace & Gromit: The curse of the Were-rabbit (again). I really LOVE that movie, and that was probably the fifth time I saw it, and it’s still great. The story is excellent, the animation perfect, and the atmosphere in each scene is totally awesome.. The humor is great and the movie has lots of cute little bunnies.. What more does a movie need??
This is the first full length Wallace & Gromit movie, and the quality is way ahead of the shorter films (which are also great).
If you havent seen this movie, then you really DO NEED to see it.. If I could only recommend a single movie out of all the movies I have ever seen, this would definatly be it.

The Triangle

We recently got some loot from play.com, mostly stacy’s crap, but also a miniseries “The Triangle” about a group of people hired to explore the Bermuda triangle, it was a bit long (around 4 hours), but it was a quite enjoyable sci-fi/thriller movie. The ending was also rather good
