I used my shiny new credit card to order myself a brand new computer today
Just ordered the computer, will keep my old screen/keyboard mouse.
Specs:
- Cooler Master Centurion 534 tower
- Corsair Powersupply 620W
- Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard
- AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.0GHz CPU
- Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 2GB RAM
- Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB hard drive
- 2x XFX GeForce 8800GTS 500M 320MB graphics card
- And a new DVD Burner + a fancy mousepad
Now I can look forward to playing games such as:
- Crysis
- Farcry 2
- Silent Hunter 4 (this was so choppy on my current computer that I could not play it)
- NeverWinter Nights 2 (my computer had a really hard time running it, choppy even at low graphics)
- Call of Duty 4
- BioShock (maybe, don’t think it’s my cup of tea, at least I should play the demo)
- Half Life 2 (never really got to try this game)
- Oblivion (have not completed it yet
and there is also the expansion)
- Age of Conan (Just going to try it a little, can probably quit any time I want)
- Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway
- Fallout 3
- GTA 4
- Postal 3
- Startrek Online
- Anything else that pops up

I picked up a Wii last night, with Wii-sports and Rayman Raving Rabbids. Just played it for like 20 minutes, but so far it seems pretty cool
I’ve found a few interesting games, and I might pick up some of them:
Not really that many Wii games that I currently NEED to have, I got both UFO Afterlight, Silent Hunter 4, and soon C&C 3 for the PC, so shooting rabid rabbits with plungers should do just fine this easter

Haven’t posted much lately.. Things have been pretty busy with work and the moving (only 6 days left, yaaaaay!), I’ve had almost no time for UFO Afterlight or Silent Hunter 4 the last 2 weeks, and I don’t expect I will have much time for C&C 3 when it is released next week.
I took out my scooter today, drove around a bit.. took like half an hour to start the bastard after it being in storage for 5 months this winter. I’m looking forward to not taking the bus to work tomorrow
The other thing that has kept me busy lately is that I have been making a new webpage (that combines aakretech.no, .com, .net and .org into a single page). Not quite done yet but most of the pages are in place. Removing the cocoon webapp for aakretech.org from my Tomcat server reduced the server’s startup time from 15 seconds to 0.7 seconds.
Not much more to say really.. Nemi got her new cage, but we wont get it for her until we move next Sunday/Monday

My employer took all of us out to drive snowmobiles in Åre, Sweden, this weekend. We drove around forests, hills, frozen lakes, and all sorts of scenery (not that we got much time to study it, due to high speeds) for a few hours.
We drove 150 km, and the rough terrain made it hard to stay on the snowmobile, having to use all our muscles to cling to the vehicle, all of us where pretty beat up afterwards. But still, it was very enjoyable.. Nothing like driving across a frozen lake in 110 km/h and hoping the ice is thick enough
I went to a local shop today hunting for birthday presents for Stacy (her Birthday is tomorrow), and WHOA! Silent hunter 4, I did not expect to see this until Friday, Installing it now, hope my computer got enough power to run it halfway decent.

Haven’t written much lately, but here are a few updates:
- We’re moving in 16 days
- I bought a Wardrums booster pack and only got 1 new figure
- The movie ‘Children of Men‘ is utter total rubbish!
- I got the last dvd box of Babylon 5
- Almost done with season 9 or Stargate SG1, and second season of Atlantis
- UFO Afterlight is very good, quite a bit different from other UFO games, but still a great game..
- 1 week until Silent Hunter 4 is released!
- Nemi is changing into her summer coat
- Iran is not as enthusiastic about 300, as I am
- Iran sucks.. but not as much as Children of Men
- Giving money to ferrets first gives good karma
- Chocolate

goddammit, I managed to catch a cold.
Not that having a cold is THAT bad, I just get pretty hazy and dizzy which mean I’m not going to do much good as a programmer.
Also being home from work is not so fun as it might sound.. Just finished Far Cry and have no games to play (why couldn’t I get sick AFTER Silent hunter 4 or C&C 3?).
Me and Stacy also watch practically every tv-series worth watching together.. which means I don’t have much to choose from when doing solo-watching. Only things I can watch without watching something I’ve seen 3-8 times before is either the A-team or ‘Allo ‘Allo!, and honestly none of these tempts me at the moment
