Don’t know if the book is better, but the story is so boring and the whole plot is so predictable and utterly retarded that I doubt the Book can be good if it is the same story. It was pretty obvious the woman was the descendant of Jesus from way early in the movie, and the whole crap was just so boring I almost fell asleep.
I don’t even get the main premise of the movie.. “a living descendant of Jesus (how the hell would this be proved with any certainty?) would make the Catholic Church loose power”, why would a relative of Jesus be BAD for them? I can’t imagine the Catholic Church’s power base disappearing anytime soon (1.1 billion members, seemingly idiots are in ample supply these days).
and there, finally the movie is over.. damn you Ron Howard.. you suck..
The movie gets a 24% at Rotten Tomatoes, that translates into 2.4 / 10 in my rating system, but I’m going to give it a rice round rating instead.

oh wait.. I gave Superman Returns 2 / 10, and at least he could fly and take a bullet in the eye.. that got to count for something
