Boom Blox!

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

I bought a very interesting game for the Wii a couple of weeks ago.

Boom Blox is basically a physics engine where you do various things involving blocks that will either fall, stand or get blown around. The story mode has 4 stories where each has a different type of gameplay, from knocking down blocks, pulling out blocks without tipping the entire structure, bouncing a ball against as many blocks as possible, etc.. The game is perfect for the Wii controller, and the graphics is very nice and cartoony.

The story mode is very entertaining, but I have yet to try the multiplayer / party mode.

The game is made by EA and Steven Spielberg. I’m not much of a Spielberg fan, in fact, I think most of what he has made is rubbish. However this game positively surprised and is up there with Jaws and Back to the Future :)

Chapter 2

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

I probably wont play World of Warcraft for at least 6 months now, so tonight I picked up on my Neverwinter Nights 1 campaign and finished chapter 1.. I must say the story so far and quests are extremely well design and much more fun than what I have played of NWN 2.

I bought the box with both expansions, so I figure I have LOTS of playtime left :)

I really like the graphics, nothing fancy still they look very nice (and NWN is one of the few games I can run at 100% graphics with this old computer), I tried some NWN2 Roleplaying, but most scenarios are for NWN1 which I did not have at the time. I might try some more Roleplaying when I’m done with the main campaign (With my Orcish barbarian).

I also played some Resident Evil 4 (on the Wii) tonight, I almost got used to the controls even tough  I hate FPS games on consoles..

Rabbits like to move!

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

Finally done moving.. used most of the easter to move the 10 km from Steinan to Tiller (Both in Trondheim). Still haven’t got everything unpacked and in place but the essentials are up and running (refrigerator, couch, tv and computer) :)

I’m closing up on 75% completion on the story mode of Rayman Raving Rabids, our only Wii game at the moment. And let me tell you, the game is GREAT. Lots of fun mini games, cute rabid bunnies and the best sounds in a video game ever. After I’m done with story mode I’m going to get ALL the bonus material, even if it kills me, I’ve come across a few bugs, but most are easily fixed (like some mini games where not possible to do unless the system was running in 60 hz video).

Oh, seeing that we don’t have much Stargate Left (halfway trough season 10 and season 3 on SG-1/Atlantis) I decided to try and watch Farscape in sequence :)

Wii!

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

I picked up a Wii last night, with Wii-sports and Rayman Raving Rabbids. Just played it for like 20 minutes, but so far it seems pretty cool :)

I’ve found a few interesting games, and I might pick up some of them:

Not really that many Wii games that I currently NEED to have, I got both UFO Afterlight, Silent Hunter 4, and soon C&C 3 for the PC, so shooting rabid rabbits with plungers should do just fine this easter
